Merzlikins could very well be the next big name to come out of Latvia. Currently playing for Lugano in Switzerland’s top league, Merzlikins had a great season, winning rookie of the year after collecting a 2.13 GAA and .924 SV% in 22 games.


With good size and reflexes, Merzlikins is a very athletic goalie. While he may be prone to overplaying certain situations, the Latvian import has shown a ton of improvement over the past few years. Merzlikins is also a great puck handler and is known for his long outlet passes.
