Player Overview
De Leo is currently in his third season in the WHL and is certainly playing like someone who has been doing it for a while. Even during his rookie campaign, spending time on the fourth line, learning the ropes, De Leo tallied 30 points in 69 games. Every season, he has shown offensive improvement and with 20 games in hand, has already nearly eclipsed his production from last season with 55 points.

Offensively, De Leo has very quick hands and great puck skills. He has a knack for creativity and displays good instincts. And despite his smaller stature, De Leo makes up for it with his willingness to go to the dirty areas to create offense and his good skating ability, darting all over the ice. He will always face the doubters because of his size, but looking to NHLers like Tyler Ennis, Cory Conacher and Brendan Gallagher, he doesn’t seem too concerned.

A hard competitor, he displays solid positioning in both ends of the ice and always has his motor running. Full of energy, he tries to get involved in any way he can. Also known for being somewhat of a character, teams will also like his ability in the face-off dot.
