Player Overview
Martin has had a solid year so far, building on his offensive production from the year before with 24 points in 45 games thus far. Although at points this season, he has struggled with consistency and has had to share the spotlight with standout Julius Honka, Martin still earned his spot to star in the CHL Prospects game this past week.

Overall, Martin is a well-rounded, two way defender. His point shot is solid, but displays great confidence when carrying the puck. Good on the transition, Martin makes good passes out of the zone. Also relied on to quarterback the power play, Martin is more than capable. He displays good mobility and balance and is strong on his edges.

Defensively, Martin’s skillset is even more appealing. Smart and positionally sound, he doesn’t give up ground with the opposition bearing down. He’s got the strength to clear out the front of the net and plays well along the boards. You may not hear his name much in a game, but that is usually because he isn’t making any mistakes.

Martin does a solid job at both ends of the ice and could increase his draft stock if he can find some more consistency to showcase his talents going into the final half of the season.
