It may sound like a broken record, but Nekolenko will also likely bring concerns of the “Russian Factor.”  His older brother, Ilya, has already followed a path to the KHL, playing for Spartak Moskva. The same team that drafted the younger Nekolenko, 20th overall in the 2013 KHL Draft.

He is however a dangerous player though and should be hard to ignore. With the ability to score in a variety of ways, Nekolenko is a pure sniper who can unleash an absolute rifle from the high slot. He also displays elite hockey sense, reads the play well and is good around the net and in traffic.

Nekolenko won’t shy away from getting gritty either. He can dominate on the ice, not just with his offensive abilities, but the Russian winger has no problem working hard in the dirty areas.

An illness sidelined him early this season, but not before he was able to pick up 5 goals and an assist in 12 games. And despite not playing much, he was actually able to jump from a B to an A in CSS rankings and could conceivably continue to rise once he gets back on the ice.
